Hexamethoxy Methylmelamine (HMMM)
HMMM is used in combination with dry bonding chemicals and resorcinol formaldehyde resins to enhance bond strength between rubber and reinforcements. HMMM offers several advantages over hexamine as it is comparatively less toxic and does not corrode steel cord, polyester cord, or metal molds. HMMM is also used in conjunction with phenolic reinforcing novalak resin in rubber compounds to increase modulus, tensile, stiffness, and hardness.
