HMMM offers several advantages over hexamine as it is comparatively less toxic and does not corrode steel cord, polyester cord or metal molds. HMMM is also used in conjunction with phenolic reinforcing novalak resin in rubber compounds to increase modulus, tensile, stiffness and hardness.
